Welcome to Seaford!
Here’s a little history of our wonderful community….Since 1672, Seaford has continued to develop and grow as a prosperous community. For many years the river was the main highway but in the 1720’s roads began to be established in the area. Over time, innovation in agriculture developed through the efforts of William Henry Harrison Ross who became Governor of Delaware in 1850.
Incorporated in 1865, Seaford continued to develop into what it is today. By the 20th century, it had become one of the peninsula’s most important economic sites, introducing the poultry industry in 1925 and the DuPont Company’s first nylon plant in 1939.
As Seaford continues to flourish today, it is home to some amazing historic sites, shopping and the best restaurants that Delaware has to offer including Sal’s Italian Restaurant. Stop in for one of our mouthwatering dishes!

Sal’s pizza sauce! Something different about it…. That’s why I started going in when he opened his restaurant
Since the beginning I’ve noticed how welcoming Sal and his staff are… Love going there. Tried almost everything on his menu never have been disappointed. Guarantee you will love Sal’s as much as I do.
Great food and Service
If you stop into Sal’s be sure to say hi to Salvatore Carannante I don’t think there has been a time in the last 25 years when I have gone in there for a pizza or a cheesesteak where I haven’t seen him working in the kitchen!
Sal’s is a classic (and classy) family restaurant located at 1018 W Stein Hwy, Seaford, DE 19973 in the Nylon Capital Shopping Center.
Authentic Italian cuisine is something many try, and fail to replicate. Sal’s does the best job of providing their customers with the full Italian experience. Not only is their restaurant a comfortable environment, but this is also some of the best Italian food available in the area. Regardless if you stop in for lunch or dinner you won’t be disappointed! The pizza is always hot and fresh! The staff is always super friendly!
Sal’s food is well-prepared with the flavors always consistent and balanced. Every time one returns, it is consistent and fabulous, no matter what you order. The food is always plated perfectly and served in a timely fashion.
So, if you are new to the area, on vacation, driving through, and looking for a restaurant this is the place for you. They have an extensive menu so don’t worry there is something for everyone!
Nice people, nice place!
Nice people, nice place. There are very few options in this area. Thank goodness I found Sal’s!! The pizza is good! The bread is good too! The food is consistent and hits the spot. The wait staff is hard working, attentive, and pleasant, tip them well. I was glad to have picked the diamond in the restaurant rough.
After checking into our hotel, we wanted to get something to eat and chose this place based off reviews. We arrived about 6:30pm on a Tuesday. It is located within a small strip mall that for the most part looked unoccupied during our visit. Because we visited during covid they had limited seating available but it was not too busy inside. There were about 5 other tables occupied but there seemed to be a lot of people coming and going for take out orders as well.
The inside looks very traditional but appeared very clean and was comfortable. The menu is extensive and is sure to feature something for everyone at your table.
Erin took great care of us and was helpful and friendly. My wife ordered the chicken and broccoli fettuccine and I chose the Italian Boli. We couldn’t resist ordering garlic bread with mozzarella cheese appetizer and a side of marinara as well to dip.
My wifes house salad and the garlic mozzarella cheese bread appetizer arrived first and we dug in. Both were perfect.
Our entree orders arrived in a timely manner and looked delicious and tasted equally as great. We both commented multiple times on just how delicious everything tasted. The regular size boli was huge and I took half back to the hotel for leftovers.
At the hotel, I kept thinking about the boli and how good it was. Sal’s was a great find – if you are in the area we would recommend you check them out!
Hands down the best pizza I have ever had! Nice chewy crust with a crispy bottom and loads of perfectly melted stretchy cheese! “Slippery” style pizza. Mmmm mmmm GOOD!
What a meal! Enough for lunch the next day. Do not judge this restaurant from the outside or you will be missing some outstanding homemade food.
